Lesson Payment

Lessons cost £15.00 per 30 minutes / £27.50 per hour.

Lessons are to be held weekly unless agreed in advance and payment can be in cash, cheque made payable to Medway Drum Studio or BACS. Acc: 09-01-28  48767289 Santander, Medway Drum Studio

Payment can be Pay as You Go or full term payments (Our term times run in-line with those published by Medway Borough Council), full term advanced payment will attract a 10% discount.

Lessons times stated as 30 minute and 60 minutes duration will fall a couple of minutes short to allow for pupil changes overs to start on time.


Cancellations / Rescheduled Lessons

When lessons start, students will commit a time and day agreed by all parties. This is therefore THEIR TIME slot. Missed lessons will be forfeited.

Cancellations notified within 48 hrs may be rescheduled subject to availability within the same calendar week.

Requests to reschedule lessons are be dealt with on an individual basis. Lessons that are unattended without prior notification will be forfeited and will not be eligible for rescheduling or refund.

Late arrivals cannot over run, lessons will finish at the previously agreed time to avoid knock-on delays to other pupils.


Terminating Lessons

Two weeks’ notice of termination must be given. Refunds will be given pro-rata for the remainder of non-taken lessons.


Advance Bookings

If you wish to book a lesson or course of lessons more than one week in advance of commencement, payment must be made in full at the time of booking.


Teacher Absence

Principle teacher, Phil Wilson, is a working professional musician. From time to time, due to professional engagements, lessons will need to be cancelled or rescheduled. As much notice will always be given as is possible. No financial loss will be incurred by any student. Lessons will be rescheduled to an agreed day and time. Lessons may credited to the following term or refunds offered at the end of the term.


Rock School Exams

Studying for exams is optional.


Triangle of Success.

Students and parents / guardians are strongly advised to sign up to this scheme for the benefit of the student. It is explained in the attached sheet.


Personal Equipment

All pupils will require their own work book, drumsticks, A4 ring binder file and a metronome for home use. This can be an application for mobile handsets, tablets or a standalone unit. We highly recommend a music stand and practice pad for home use. It is the responsibility of the student, parent / guardian to ensure these are available at all times for practice.

Text books, examination fees and consumable items are payed for separately from lesson fees. Some items we stock and we have recommended suppliers

Students are to bring to each lesson

  • Work books
  • Drumsticks. (Medway Drum Studio recommends Vic Firth)
  • Bottle of water or other refreshment
